Robert Chesterton joined Burns Guthrie and Partners as a graduate in 1972, becoming a Partner in 1984. He has considerable experience in schools and healthcare premises which have been the corner stone of the Practice.
In 1982 Robert worked on the new church hall for St James’ Church, Tunbridge Wells. From this beginning he has become architect to the fabric of several churches in and around Tunbridge Wells. His work involves quinquennial repairs, alterations to facilitate changes in worship practices and new build extensions.
In 1996 he worked on the reinstatement of the Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr, Tunbridge Wells following fire damage. This involved conservation of historic fabric, another of his interests.
As an experienced amateur actor and set designer, Robert is always pleased to be involved in theatre design and refurbishment.
